Welcome to the IPTI – the International Police Training Institute.
We are a supportive, collaborative not-for-profit training organization, committed to delivering best practice executive leadership training and mentoring services for the international law enforcement community and intelligence services.
Whether tackling economic development, poverty reduction, justice reformation or counter-terrorism, the solution – we believe – lies in a professional policing approach which is highly respectful of human rights, supported by an effective command and control structure. The IPTI is committed to the development and support of executive police officers and emerging leaders who can deliver precisely this level of security for their communities.
We are proud of our status as the world’s only management development and mentoring organization which the FBI National Academy Association (NAA) has appointed as authorized agents to provide specialized international police training, executive leadership and support for National Academy Association members based in Europe; Africa and the Middle East; Latin America and the Caribbean, and Asia / Pacific regions.
Building long-term partnerships based on mutual trust and understanding underpins every aspect of the IPTI’s work. We draw on an internationally-renowned team of experts, coupled with our extensive network of diplomatic and political contacts, to offer specialized training programs designed to ensure human security, in all its facets and operational scenarios, regardless of geographical location.
Tailored IPTI training programs, and international best practice conferences, range from the latest techniques in forensics, counter-terrorism, hate crimes and interrogation techniques, to situational policing, command and control communications and working with the media.
In certain cases, we may be able to help locate available funding to assist with training costs.
Our headquarters are in Budapest, within the International Training Centre operated by the Hungarian Ministry of the Interior. Our neighbours are ILEA (the International Law Enforcement Academy), CEPOL (the European Police College) and the Middle European Police Academy. We also operate fully-functioning partner arrangements in Canada, the USA and the UK.
